I am trying like heckity to remember where I recently read about somebody buying a new red Moleskine agenda to organise her writing stuff, because over the past couple of weeks it’s become apparent that I need a separate – and portable – day book other than my personal one to keep all my social media work organised. And so with this in mind I visited my friend Maria’s shop called Maspapeles this morning and had a look at her extensive collection of Moleskine notebooks. And I finally decided on a small red weekly organiser that opens to show a week’s calendar on the left and a lined page for notes on the right. Perfect. It also fits perfectly into the front pocket of the fab bag I got at Maria’s place for my September trip to London.
But I am still trying to remember where I first read about this other person’s moleskine, also red, and like mine, with cool little pocket on the inside. Anyhow, I know I’m going to love it, as well as loving the reason I now need two daybooks. And it was great that Maria helped me pick out the one that would be best for my needs. So I got the new moleskine and also a 2011 refill for my old leather daybook.
I love feeling organised.

that might have been Zeus…

I was sure it was Walker, but now can’t find a post about it on her blog. I even remember seeing a pic of a nice red Moleskine… but I read it at night on my iPhone…or maybe I dreamt it?

I use a Rhodia planners. I just ordered one for next year after double checking about the type of paper in this and a couple of other brands of planners.

I always switch back and forth between journal books and planners that use Clairefontaine paper, and they all have to have 85-90-100 g paper because I write with fountain pens. Modern Moleskines are great, really great, for ballpoints, rollerballs, and pencils, but they are often not friendly to fountain pens, or the dip pens that I use on my writing desk at home.
My wife uses the little Moleskine notebooks with a mechanical pencil and it is a great combination for her, much like Mister Anchovy’s similar pairing of planner and pencil. I’m glad to see someone else sticking to pen and paper planners. When the laptop dies, it doesn’t help to have everything stored on the computer, including addresses and phone numbers.

I still have an old dogeared Rolodex. Though my cat always seems eager to rearrange it. He seems to think I have alphabetized incorrectly.

I use a small black moleskin notebook with the squared pages. I keep it with me all the time and use it for anything from jotting down ideas for writing or for my blog to shopping lists, to addresses and phone numbers and directions. My weapon of choice is a mechanical pencil that uses 2B .5mm leads.

Yep, have just added a .5mm Pilot mechanical pencil to the third pen slot inside my bag, and have another very nice Lamy one for home use. Well, it’s somewhere. Loki has gravity tested it so often that I’m sure I’ll have to replace the leads if and when I find it again.

I buy these all the time and then never end up using them.

I love moleskines – but I keep my notes in 3×5 and 4×6 spiral notebooks. My favorite day planner hands down was my Palm PDA…in all of its iterations…but since they’re no longer being made and my last one is dying, I’m probably going to go back to my 3×5 Filofax, small enough to carry with me everywhere but big enough to do the job.
Your new moleskine looks lovely, Az. May it get a year of good use.
