Today’s Photohunt theme is “shadow”.
This is my charcoal grey laptop called Shadow. My other laptop is called Sexy Beast, my iPhone is Pippin (geddit?) and my camera’s name is Niko. Is this weird¿ What do you call your gadgets, cars, etc?

My gadgets are called some variation of “You F*&king b#$%ard!”.
Mine is up, too.

All my cars have had names — Valeria Desesperanza, Esclarmonde de Foix, and currently just Melissa.
My first computer was Lucrezia Borgia — a Pentium 233 that was, at my best diagnostic guess, haunted (sometimes her video card would go kerfoof and I would have to interpret the wiggles on the screen to perform a blind shutdown) — and after that I inherited my Albino Ex’s CPU, Ronald Reagan (“insufficient memory at this time”). He was replaced with a Dell named Brother Juniper and then the Cute Engineer built me Sebastian, whose laptop friend is called Alexander.
A mouse eventually made a nest in Lucrezia’s case, after I started cannibalizing her for parts.

Mine are some variation of “That G*dD*mn*d Piece of Sh*t”. I guess I never get attached enough to a gadget to give them a name.
Wait, I take that back, I always call my work computers LizzieB on the network (Lizzie Borden, 50 whacks etc) but I never think about them that way unless I’m trying to find it from somewhere else.

I think it was forty whacks.

She gave her mother forty-one.” 😉

No names here. They’re just things I use.

Ha ha Anneke beat me to the comment I would have made! I call my computer Queeg, a reference to British comedy Red Dwarf

I’m not a great one for naming things, but as a result of family pressure, I drive Andy the Audi – I used to have Volker the Volkswagen etc. My wife drives a Nissan Micra called Froggy – because “she” has froggy eyes apparently.

No names for my stuff, but you got me thinking. I do call my husband my viejo. Thanks for the info about where’s andrew. I’ve actually been following him on his Australian travels. Fortunately, we have spent a lot of time in Perth over the last couple of years and that should help in the move–something we are looking forward to. Hopefully you will soon find a new place that suits you.

But the Micra DOES have froggy eyes…
I have a tree called Gerald. All the dog’s toys are called something. Gadgets aren’t called anything though.

I have to admit that I don’t have names for my gadgets… maybe it’s because I spend enough time and effort already giving names to my plushies! 😀

Nice photo of your Shadow.
We only named our car, Paige, the Pajero. When one of its fog lights fell off, she became Paige, the one-eyed Pajero, aka, Polyphemus, the Pajero.

I maybe the exception. I never name my gadgets 😦

Interesting – I’ve never given any of my electronic gadgets names. It may have something to do with working in computers. But we do give cars names especially rental cars – I remember one fondly – Mountain goat – for a rental in Corsica.

LOL, that’s cute. We’ve only named the sweet cat who has adopted us, she only comes to visit when she’s hungry 🙂
Happy weekend!

When I saw your comment on TNChick’s post, I thought that Shadow was going to be a cat or dog. Ha! This is funny. My gadgets don’t have names but it’s a great idea.

My computers called Sally, but I’ve not named any of my other gadgets!

A good variation on the theme and one which has caused a lot of comment. I never name things – except for my key ring which is called “Piglet”. Yep – that bear’s friend.
