This afternoon I had AN EXPERIENCE … a special tour of the rooftops of the Cathedral. Yes, plural, as the Sevilla Cathedral is the third largest in Europe. Anyhoodle, not the best place for an agoraphobic to be, and at one point – with the bell tower IN MY FACE – I decided not to turn and run screaming down five miles of narrow stone spiral stairs and shot this short video instead. Mediaeval splendour. Where did they get the limestone?

I don’t think it’s limestone. There was a whole talk given about the stone coming from Triana and how difficult it was to bring over the river, but I was too busy snapping pics and wasn’t paying much attention. Sorry.

I don’t know how often they do these rooftop tours but they have to be organised months in advance and there has to be a minimum of ten people in a group. I got on this one because someone I met on twitter invited me back in March. So perhaps with enough notice…
