Today’s Photohunt theme is “drink”.
This is Azar (aka: the love of my life) having a drink. Out of his own special glass. You see, Azar is now 16 1/2 and his kidneys aren’t working as well as they should be. It’s very common for older cats with this problem to stop drinking and then they get dehydrated. But Azar is a very clever cat. He has made a game out of drinking so that he gets a lot of extra attention. He’ll walk into the room and mieow-mieow-mieow until I get his glass, fill it with fresh water, and then make a big fuss over him while he drinks deeply. Several times a day.

How cute! enjoy your weekend!

My Mingus is still a young God (12 now…) and he does the same thing. His glass is an old Ballantines tumbler with an advert on it that says “Los Espanoles” it dates from the time they had a commercial of people partying in Laredo…
Give Azar a big hug and a meow from Mingus!

So Azar prefers a glass rather than bowl? Interesting and I wonder how that came to be! :b

Ah he’s so handsome. Our Robyn is 17 and is showing his age too. Here’s hoping both Azar and Robyn will be around for a while yet

Great take on the “drink” theme! I’m glad that Azar is keeping hydrated – my cat, Willow, also enjoys drinking out of my glass!

We know a good drink when we see one, don’t we?

If only my mother was more interested in drinking as much water as she should…

Both of my cats are fascinated with human beverages and Nickel Catmium in particular cannot be diverted from a small tumbler like that. I’ve caught her drinking just that way out of the bedside glass.
Once there was a bit of malt whisky in it instead of just ice and water. She was appalled. Twice. She leapt back, then leapt back a tiny bit more, registering absolute revulsion. Didn’t stop her from investigating the next glass, though.
