I love this photo of a small Loki taking a “curtain call”. This was in the previous casa az and I had these curtains hanging across my bedroom door. Loki would race through them, dragging them onto the bed with him, and then commence chewing .
(other cute pics of ghost kitten and ghost cat strikes again)
You can see the damage done in the old casa az vid, and I guess I was foolishly optimistic in thinking things would be any different at the new place…

… especially with a young curtain climbing ninja kitten. I mean, just look at that! A year’s worth of daily destruction. And so yesterday I decided it was time to wash and hang the extra set of replacement curtains I bought last time I was at IKEA. I also decided to be Cruella Seville and remove the sun-basking chair that used to sit in front of the balcony doors, which should cut down on damage done as most of the holes were at chair seat level (though they can still be dragged onto the bed…).
Ah well, luckily the curtains only cost 12 euros. It’s more the having to go to IKEA to get new ones that bugs me. And as I’ve always said, anyone who is excessively fond of things like curtains, rugs and soft furnishings basically shouldn’t have cats.
Here are the new curtains up and you can almost hear Loki thinking “oh boy – fresh ones!” 🙂
Cruella Seville…..*snigger*

I’ve had the same issues with cats I’ve had in the past, and both of my families dogs are just as bad. My one dog decided to eat part of the couch, a candle and a bunch of books and cds cases when he was younger. He’s also eaten many other things over the years! Luckily he didn’t get really sick, but we definitely needed a new couch after that. Funny thing was that we never liked the couch we had anyway!

I think you were so smart to buy an extra set. They are so light and airy in both places. Love the diffuse light. We have shutters, and 0 curtains in the whole house. They are mostly cat-proof but miss the mark on light and airy by a long shot.

I have shutters too, but almost never close them. There’s just one time of year (coming up) when one of the liviing room balconies needs to have its shutters closed in the morning so that there won’t be direct sunlight coming in. Yeah, I really love that soft filtered light effect. Have a different kind of gauzy white curtain in the living room (and just 8€ a set from IKEA!).

I lost the beautiful curtains I had made when my mother decided that they needed to be washed… without asking me. I opened the washer to find that the washer was filled with shredded fabric, Delicate Sari material will do that.
They were lovely.
