Certainly is – it would be useful to have a timeline as well – just in case ones knowledge of history isn’t all it might be.

My thought exactly — Europe from the high Middle Ages to today figured in most of my undwergraduate classes, but even with that it went awfully quick for me to tell where I was, usually by one large change or another.
