This whole selection process is not getting any easier. Here are the wee beasties having a feed on Peter’s lap. I think it’s still between the ginger-ninja and smudge. But the two tabbies are both very cute too. I dunno. Seriously. I do not know. Pablo is going out of town next weekend and I think I’m going to bring Pitu and her kittehs over here for a few days, just to get used to them and see who is who. They are so tiny for their age though… also taking them to the vet this week for a check-up. What do you guys think?

Have you considered a dog? Life would be so much simpler!

In what way? So I could just say I don’t want a dog?

I’m fully expecting you to pick the ginge! But how cute does Smudge look in that middle picture?

Smudge has the “so ugly I’m cute!” thing going for her. Also, she is the first one I’ve named. Hmmm…

They’re all so adorable….but the ginger one is extra adorable.

The ginger-ninja (works best with a British accent) is the biggest and most “in-yer-face” of them all. HUGE belly. Doesn’t have the gorgeous markings like Loki, mostly a stripey head and fuzzy orange body.

OMG Smudgy in the bottom left picture. And I speak as someone who loves a ginger.

Smudge often looks totally demented. I like that in a cat! π

Ah – you don’t need my advice – I’m all catted out!

Their eyes are now changing from blue to whatever they will end up being. I’m still a bit weirded out that they were all born with their eyes open. As Pitu had such a difficult delivery (first kitten born dead, two others died later) perhaps they were all born over-due since kittens don’t usually open their eyes for at least 7 days after birth.
Anyhow, will see what Yolanda the vet says about them tomorrow. Yes, going back to Yolanda, mostly because she seems to know a lot about cats, more than most vets.
Brought a bag of Hill’s kitten food over to Pablo’s – hope he will make the effort to make sure they eat it. When I tried them with it the other day, well, you can see they went crazy for it. Peter just sat there while they climbed all over him trying to get their faces into the food dish (ended up getting a second dish out). I think they were disappointed when the big warm human chair cushion went home. π

Is Smudge the little black startled-looking one? That’s my favourite

Yeah, she’s mostly black but with orangy-brown smudges here and there, including on one back paw and toes (cute!). Weirdest smudge is the one that looks like an uneven milk mustache.

I think we all know that you didn’t have much of a chance. You were pegged from the start… You THOUGHT it was your decision but we all know the decision was made.

It’s funny to look back on this photo and remember that I thought I actually had to choose. Yep, that little smudgy girl already had me…
