This week’s Friday Foto Finder challenge is “crane”…
Unlike Spanish storks or flamingos, the crane is a more elusive bird that is usually spotted within city limits. Here we see a male crane (the more brightly coloured of the species) peering above the nests of others, possibly in search of a mate, or perhaps just warming its long frame in the warm midday sun.
Check out what other Friday Foto Finders are posting over here!

Lots of cranes that lost their feathers this time, I see. 😀 Mine is here: http://allicanblog.wordpress.com/2013/11/15/friday-foto-finder-crane/

I had an actual crane fly over me this morning on my way to work. When I lived in the sticks near the rice fields I’d see flocks of them every day, so I was excited to see this one today. They are not really cranes, they are snowy egrets, but they look like cranes.

LOL – I had never before wondered at the mating habits of the steel crane. I counted this morning and I can see 29 cranes from my balcony! They must breed – possibly in the night.
