Personally I don’t want to see anything really Christmassy in stores until December. Spain is getting the American bug of doing Christmas far too early now. I don’t put my tree up until Christmas Eve and take it down on 6 December, the original 12 days of Christmas!
I like that. Used to be the city council would turn on the Christmas lights the evening of December 7th (immaculate conception) and turn them off on January 5th (epiphany). Lately they’ve been moving the date up for the lights, sometimes during the last week of November. I liked it better staying with tradition.
Of course shops start with their decorations much earlier, sometime in November. But October?? Enough already.
