Today I went to get my flu jab and the nurse said I was also eligible for a bonus pneumonia jab (cos I’m OLD), so I said, hell yes, give me all the jabs. One in each arm. Still waiting for word on the Covid booster shot. At the moment in Andalucía they are only doing over 70s and front line workers, and beginning to give kids their first jabs. Anyhow. This is good. Because I really feel this winter is going to be the real test re: Covid and all the variants, and how (if?) we end up working together to eradicate it. And every day I give thanks that we will have a mask mandate in place until (at least) next spring.

We had double jabs last December at the centro de Salud. No problem except the usual sore ar for a couple of days. My flu arm hurt but not the flu arm, and Paul was the other way around. I had my tercero COVID today, they phoned me up (and I am not 70….for a while yet) apparently it’s because the drugs I take compromise my immune system. So you and Paul should also get it, and for the same reason. Paul’s medical stuff was done privately so we have sent all the reports to the doc asking him to sort it out. You should go through the phone call to get a phone call rigmarole to make sure your doctor refers you too. If you look on the Clic Salud + site there are walk in centres for those having private health or insurance treatment. Our nearest was Cadiz but it wasn’t clear from the phone call if it was on or not. Still it’s worth pursuing through the local doctor route.
On another topic….are you able to come to the Afternoon Tea here in Jerez on 12 November? It would be great to see you if you can. I sent stuff via Facebook and Tomoko used her links to publicise so I hope you saw it. Anne x

I’m actually not on any drugs, and far enough from last chemo that nobody thinks I am immunocompromised…but I think there’s still a good chance I am. Otherwise they wouldn’t keep doing all those CT scans (next on is on Nov 10th).
So I won’t be able to make it to your lovely sherry and tea party. Might be able to do a tasting here earlier in the week.

I’m up for my booster in a week. It was going to be as early as today but Shit Happened.
I see here where two strains of flu have DIED OUT because of so much masking and distancing. If only the US could keep it up. Maryland, just across the river, is lifting its mask mandate for indoor spaces and I’m so like WTF do you people not understand…
