I still remember this one over-producing orange tree at a cemetery in Athens. People won’t eat the fruits, so the pigeons absolute gorge themselves with it. I’ve never seen such obese pigeons, most of them were landbound…

Poor pigeons! (not a phrase I think often) Here the (approx) 50,000 orange trees are harvested by the city in January, though the oranges aren’t used for human consumption due to the pollution here.
