I’d never heard the term Yacht Rock before watching this documentary but apparently it’s a THING. What was really interesting (to me at least) was discovering how much influence many of these yacht rock artists had on other major albums over the following years, and how many of them actually ended up playing on these albums, mostly in the background. It’s a fun watch and I added quite a few tunes to my streaming list.

I watched the first series of Loot when it first came out in 2022 and quite enjoyed it. Then saw there was a new season, started watching it, and realised I remembered fuck all from the first one. Well, next to nothing or next to nothing enough. So, starting over… does this happen to you? On the positive side I guess it means that you can just rewatch films and series over and over as if for the first time.

Enjoyed these two very different short series this week. Wicked Little Letters surprised me, I wasn’t expecting it to be so clever and fun. British black comedy at its best with a terrific cast.
Kaos was also fun and started off strong but got a bit tired towards the end. The best part for me was when a drone shot of the Plaza de España came on the screen. Turns out they filmed a lot of it in Sevilla and Málaga back in 2022. And it looks like there will be a second season.

Just finished watching The Brothers Sun and was sad to find out that Netflix didn’t renew it for another season. I found it so entertaining, great cast and writing, compelling characters. When I see what else Netflix has to offer at the moment it seems clear they are only about “the numbers” not about quality. Shame.
But some happy news… Slow Horses Season 4 is coming up soon!
