rain at last

Other than a brief respite mañana (so I can hopefully get some laundry done) it looks like it’s going to be non-stop RAIN for the next ten days. At least, we hope so. It’s been such a dry winter that there is a serious threat of drought this summer in Andalucía. So it’s time to stay cosy and dry inside, do some cooking, work on the website, read and do photo editing, etc and basically breathe a sigh of relief. The rain is finally here.

It was one of those days. Woke up to the sound of rain pounding on the patio roof, and it didn’t let up all day. By noon I decided it was going to be a PJ day and the cats and I have thoroughly enjoyed it. Got some work done, did a bit of cleaning, cooked a lovely garam masala, netflixed, listened to music… and now back to bed! Sun should be out again tomorrow, and I will be too.  🙂

rainy-dayOn the way home from a doctor’s appointment today the skies suddenly opened up and began chucking it down. Luckily we were next to La Doma Nervión when this happened, so we scooted inside to take shelter from the storm and Sergio was quick to pour us a couple of restorative manzanillas.

Neither the photos taken nor the video below show just how hard the rain was pelting down, which it did non-stop for over two hours. This left us no option but to stay and have a nice relaxed lunch at La Doma while watching people hurrying by outside who’d been caught out and were soaked to their skin. It was the first rain since May, but even now just an hour or so later, the sun is out again and the ten-day forecast calls for nothing but sunshine and temps between 26-33ºC. Weird weather.
