Here are my wrinkly old feet wearing my brand new red sandals. And omg I am so happy. I haven’t been able to find cute red sandals for YEARS but suddenly there they were at the little shop across from my house. And cheap too. I mean, these are the type of sandals that maybe last one season but that’s just fine by me, especially after the past few years wearing the same (frankly not pretty) black Skechers because I couldn’t find anything else. Really, I was just buying the same model over and over again because I knew they fit and were comfortable. And well, I still have them because they are serviceable (and comfortable) but it’s so nice to have something else that’s cute. And red. And also sooooo nice to finally say goodbye to they tyranny of tights and shoes until next November.

Omg this is the shabbiest quicky pedi I’ve ever done but suddenly it was going up to 26º and I had to be out of the house in less than half an hour. And I DID NOT want to put on tights and shoes. With my back not cooperating and my knees not bending properly this was the best I could do at short notice. The important thing was to have happy toes, and really, nobody should be getting that close to my feet to notice. Going to book a pro-job asap.

But yeah… it’s suddenly azahar and blackbirds and sandals. Hola Spring!

Along with the azahar blossoming this week it was also my first time wearing sandals this year (!!!). Which required a quick paint job on the ol’ toes – very slapdash as you can see, but it was okay for an evening out. So now I am thinking of getting a professional pedicure to fix this mess and also to prep my feet for the hardships of a long hot summer. If anyone local can recommend a good place to go that would be great. I’ve never done this before!

So there I was this afternoon, just hanging around after lunch and wondering what to do next, after having spent the entire morning in front of the computer… and then I picked up my phone to check on Instagram and BAM! I saw that it was 27 DEGREES outside!!! It sure didn’t feel that warm inside. So it was time to dust off the ol’ sandals and take them out for a stroll.

I must’ve known this was about to happen soon, because on Monday I found a new nail colour for this year, and this morning I decided to try it out. Thus, I was all set to just slip on the sandals today. We went out in search of azahar, but so far it seems there is still none to be found in the city centre. Instead we ended up having a beer with our friend Juan at La Azotea (AKA The Office) before heading home again. So this is it. It will be difficult to get those  happy toes back into shoes if the weather cools off again. But it’s actually looking pretty good for the time being. Happy me with happy toes.

Hello new Mephistos! It’s not quite sandal weather here, mostly because I haven’t had time to do a proper pedicure and paint the nails, but these are my newest sandals, freshly arrived via online purchase. It’s been so long since I’ve been able to find some cheerful RED Mephistos, so this year I’ve opted for silver. And they fit like… well, really well-fitting sandals. Cute too.
