Calling all Christmas orphans!
Or really, anyone who would like to stop by at casa az on Christmas day for a bit of a festive get together. Nog and I will be home all day and although we plan to be quite lazy and probably watch a film or two between eating & drinking to our heart’s content we’ll also have both the laptop and the PC on if people would like to pop in and say hello.
Either here or on IM or Skype … up to you. Not sure if I’ll want to use the webcam or not, especially if I stay in my pj’s and am not wearing a bra π . But anyhow, if you’d like to get in touch by IM or Skype and don’t have our contact names just email me and I’ll send them to you.
We love having visitors. And we both know what it’s like to spend Christmas on your own.

I’ll have to pop by, then! I might have a dinner to go to for Christmas Eve, so that’ll be nice.

Because I think that my Christmas Eve is your Christmas Day, indeed I do…

I’ll certainly drop in. I’ll be away from family and friends in a very isolated situation. Friendship will be a boon.

What’s the time difference where you are, Archie? I know that SC is 9 hours behind us and I think you are about 8-10 hours ahead.
We’ll definitely be home on Christmas Eve because everything shuts down here around 6pm (bars, restaurants, everything …) and we should be here most of Christmas day, though we might go out for a walk after brunch if it’s sunny.
Otherwise and that, we’ll be here and looking forward to our friends dropping in. The more the merrier. π
By the way, we’re GMT + 1 hour.

Nog has just suggested that we put our Yahoo IM contact names here, so here they are…

So just add us to your Yahoo IM list and we’ll accept and then we can chat – and maybe even have a few people chatting at once. If you don’t have a Yahoo IM thingy, it only takes a minute to set up.
We’re quite looking forward to spending Christmas with you all. π

I’m an ICQer but I will try to set up yahoo. At this instant, using my magic computer gizmo, it is 6.30am (actually 7.30 because of daylight saving) and it is 10.30pm for you (the day before) My magic Gizmo has you at the same time as GMT – do you have daylight saving anywhere? Anyway, it seems, at the moment, that we are 8 hours apart.

“and it is 10.30pm for you”
Nope, it says 11.34pm up there. But if it was 7.30am your time when you posted that then you are 8 hours ahead. So we’ll probably be up and about around 4pm your time on Christmas day.

Aren’t time zones fun?
Under normal circumstances I would try to join in on the 25th, but this year I won’t actually be at liberty, for a change.

Well, you might feel a need to take a break from the festivities … if so, you know where to find us.

az, I’ve just got round to reading the email you sent me last September. There were 1600 in my inbox so I thought it was about time I cleared the backlog. I apologize for not answering and I hope things have been sorted out.

It all worked out in the end, thanks alji.

Just wondering if it would be a good idea to arrange some ‘set times’, depending on where other people are.
Nog just mentioned something about windows of convenience but I think this is because he is more than half asleep and barely conscious at the moment.
Windows of convenience? π
So okay . . . we will be around all of Christmas Eve (from 6pm till whenever we go to bed) and then probably from about 8am Christmas morning.
Ivan, you might find you’ll want to take a break from your family festivities just to recharge your batteries a little …
Anyhow … just thinking about how to arrange times to be with people whilst keeping everything somewhat spontaneous and with nobody feeling obligated to be there. Well, it’ll all work out one way or the other.
Tomorrow I’m going to pick up some mince pies brought to me by a friend who went to London last weekend … mmmmmmmmmmm.

Okey dokey, Paul … I think we are about 6-8 hours ahead of you though, so perhaps we won’t connect until Boxing Day. But no problem as we should be around most of the time.
