This is driving me bonkers!

Yesterday Pipocas took me out for a lovely lunch at a new place (well, new for us) called Viniera San Telmo. It had been recommended by someone from the UK who had written to me back in August, thanking me for my tapas blog because he brings people to Sevilla for tapa tours and apparently my site has been very helpful to him. He also told me about some of his favourite places here, one of which is Viniera San Telmo. And so we tried it out and it really was fabulous. Anyhow, over lunch . . .

Pipocas and I were talking about getting away for a day, maybe to Cádiz, and then she suggested that we could make it an overnight trip. I immediately thought of Bolonia and the Magical Mystery Tour we had taken our friend Craig (aka zoomer) on when he was here a couple of years ago.  It was supposed to have been a trip to Gibraltar (because on a previous attempt to get into that place in order to buy knickers at Marks & Spencer I had forgotten my passport) but as luck would have it, the night before we were going to leave with Craig I discovered that my passport had expired the previous week … so it was the Magical Mystery Tour instead.

Pipocas seemed very keen on doing something similar, including stopping overnight in Bolonia, where I assured her they made the best chipirones a la plancha in the universe, as well as having wonderful Roman ruins that go right down to the beach.  And she thought going to Gibraltar would be fun too. All I had to do was remember to bring my passport, ha ha.

Unfortunately … when I got back from my last trip to Gibraltar (actually my first trip, third attempt) I remember putting the passports away in a safe place.  And now – you guessed it – I can’t remember where that place is! I looked in all the usual places yesterday evening, and even in a few unusual ones, to no avail. The passports remain missing.  Talk about totally frustrating and annoying!

So what can I do – short of undergoing hypnosis – to jog my memory? I’ve got a week to find the damn thing, otherwise we’ll have to change our travel plans. But even if we don’t go to Gibraltar, it’s going to be great to get away for a couple of days – just me and Pipocas – on a little road trip.
