I have been instructed to “not get too excited” about the biopsy results from yesterday, but I can’t help feeling like we have some good reasons to celebrate today.

Happy birthday! And I agree. You do have some good reasons to celebrate. One of them is that we are all alive, something that it is way too easy to forget is worth celebrating all on its own. Perhaps that is why birthdays feel so important. They are a concrete acknowledgement of the fact that our life is important. May you have many more happy days, not just birthdays.

I’m still full!
For the record, the starters were: baguettes filled with black olive paste, garlicky goat cheese & roasted red peppers, and toasted flour tortillas filled with homemade hummous, grilled aubergine and roasted red peppers. The main course was honey-garlic-mustard pork ribs, roasted potatoes and steamed broccoli. Mmmm…
