It’s all been feeling rather Christmassy lately, even mundane stuff like getting my hair cut. The photo above was taken on my way home from the hairdresser’s yesterday, when I stopped in at Bar Campanario to do some bloggy research for a virtual Christmas dinner being planned over at FFE’s. At one point Sledpress mentioned a Spanish liqueur called Cuarenta y Tres (43), which I had never tried. So I asked my friend María Paz if she would let me have a wee taste, which led to her offering me & Nog free drinks and tapas … and well, we couldn’t say no.
Last weekend Nog & I had gone to pick out my Christmas prezzie (which is still a secret) and on the way home passed a tapa bar that – gasp! – we had never been to. After checking out the menu we decided to stop in at Pando for a snack, and look at what we got for just 12 euros (including two drinks!)…
grilled rosada with baby eels and langostines
beef in mustard sauce
jamón croquettes
But the biggest Christmassy treat this past week was when Azar suddenly decided to be a lap cat! I almost fell out of my comfy chair in shock the first time he did this the other day. And so here is a very rare shot of both Snibble Brothers cosying up with ‘scary morning-hair’ az.

And very cute all three of you look.
Been listening to christmas music, and getting the christmas movies on standby, too.

So for us newbies, which cat is which?
Feliz Navidad!

You were probably the warmest spot in the house! My cats have been hanging out by the fireplace, trying to be friendly (?) with each other. Sort of.
Your food looks divine as usual. Or, as usually, as the SP speak goes.

“which cat is which?”
Well, since you asked Kim…
Sunny is the massive Burman/Siamese on the left who turned 15 this past August. He’s actually a dog, very friendly and affectionate and, well, doggy.
And Azar is a rescue cat I brought home when he was about five months old. He is 13 1/2 now and it’s taken him that long to finally sit on my lap, though he’s always loved cuddling up next to me in bed. He’s also my WP avatar.
My friend Teuchter has nicknamed them the Snibble Brothers. And as you probably won’t know what snibbling is … check it out.
They are quite possibly the most spoiled cats in the history of the universe. 🙂

Mmmm, I’d love me a fireplace right about now, Beth.

Benjamin is “sometimes” a lap cat when I am in bed. Not so much of late, even after the infamous 36-hours-locked-in-the-basement episode.

Lovely tapas, too.

I’ll compete with you for spoiled cats (someone once said to me: “If your cats were women, no one could afford them.”). And my old Maine Coon, after a period of sulkiness, is going all lappy again too. Maybe there’s some sort of meme going around the cat world?

It must be the zodiac that is influencing cats. . . Smokey has suddenly decided that he can both share the love seat and sit in my lap.
You all look very cozy.

Nice pic, az! 🙂
Have you tried mixing milk and the (un)famous 43? That’s the way I once was introduced to this licqueur once upon a time. Doesn’t reduce the effect of the alcohol though.
Feliz Navidad! – it’s past midnight and I’d better go to sleep…

Nog had to remind me of what you were referring to, zoomer – I thought it was a play on words and not to be taken literally. In any case, we only have your word on how much you did/didn’t enjoy the FGH’s. 😛
“You were probably the warmest spot in the house!”
Nooooooooooo, they truly do luurrve me Beth!
You have a Maine Coon, sledpress? I love those cats. Blog buddy dragonqueen has one too – a recent addition to her mad Swedish House of Cats.

Pfft! 😛
I’ve only got four cats – and three of them are actually my daughter’s. It lacks at least eight or so before I qualify as a Mad Cat Lady 😀
