Going back to pilates class today!
After having been back to thrice-weekly (Mon-Wed-Fri) yoga classes since the beginning of January, I’ve decided to take the plunge and also go back to doing pilates classes on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.
So today I will have my first pilates class since last April.
Will let you know how it goes …
“When I hear somebody sigh that Life is hard,
I am always tempted to ask, compared to what?”
– Sydney J. Harris
Good luck! Hope it went well and that you don’t wind up being too sore after your long break.

Well, I won’t be going for another hour or so. Planning to get there early and have a chat with the instructor before the class starts so he’s aware of my “limitations” beforehand. Quite looking forward to it, though I’ve just realised I don’t actually have enough comfy gym clothes to do five classes a week (since I’m also wearing comfy gym clothes at home and to bed these days).
Hmmm… more washing I guess.
Do you like the quote I just added up there? 🙂

That’s a good one – life is certainly better than the alternative

Superb quote! And well done you for getting back to pilates – it was something I could never get the hang of 😦

I have a feeling that some very under-used muscles are going to be complaining tomorrow. But I’ll be taking them to yoga in the morning, so that should help.
I quite enjoyed the class, though it’s kind of crowded. Must be the spring rush to look good on the beach because suddenly there are twice as many people in yoga class too.
Now that I’m going to the gym Monday-Friday I’ll have to find something healthy to do at the weekends as well.

I think it all depends on the instructor. I would never have gone back to pilates if this person was still giving the class.

My favourite ‘live is hard’ quote is up on the wall of my office (along with bits and scraps and numbers and pictures)
“The reason people find it so hard to be happy is that they always see the past better than it was, the present worse than it is, and the future less resolved than it will be”
Marcel Pagnol
I’m not sure who Pagnol is, I just came across the quote in of all things a local paper and it struck a chord.

Just googled him and he was a director! LOL

Perhaps expecting to be happy is at the root of all unhappiness, zoomer.
Legs are returning to normal – I can now get up from a sitting position without wincing in PAIN. Going to try the stairs again soon …
