Sunny was born on August 5th 1993 between 10-11am.
Since I am away at the beach for his birthday – the first one I have ever missed! – I thought I’d show you this photo of Sunny “at the beach”, taken when he was about 10 months old. This was in my first apartment in Sevilla (across the street from where I live now), a very small studio apartment about the size of the living room at casa az. So I didn’t have a lot of storage space and that rascal Sunny used to love scratching open bags of cat litter, spreading it all over the floor, and then rolling around in it.
I just spoke to Chiara and she said that the boys are fine and that Sunny is taking his meds. But she didn’t know about Azar’s bendy paw and at first was worried that something had happened to him! Anyhow, they are both doing fine and I am very happy to hear that, but I do miss them a lot. Somehow it doesn’t feel right to be missing Sunny’s birthday, but I’ll make it up to him with lots of extra snibbles when I get home.
Happy birthday, Sunny bunny!

Almost ended up with a new kitten tonight. Nog and I were having a Mexican snack out on a little terrace and I kept hearing this little plaintive mieow mieow mieow… then saw this skinny wee kitteh that couldn’t have been more than 6-8 weeks old. I put down some food for it, and later the waiter gave it some more. I’m telling ya, if we’d been in Sevilla I think I’d be newly owned by a tiny white & caramel coloured kitten.
Still missing the boys. But Nog and I talk about them a lot and share cat anticdotes that make us smile.
Yep, very lucky indeed, Anne.
