It’s been raining all week!
Been drying laundry on the clothesrack indoors, finally had to get out the duvet (not the big winter one yet, but still…). If this keeps up I’m going to have to start wearing shoes – and it’s not even November! I am soooo not ready for winter. 😦
What’s the weather doing where you are?

The rain we were having last week must have made it across the Atlantic or something. We have had a hard freeze and the nights are starting to be chilly, but today it was a lovely mild day, temps in the upper 50s Centigrade. We are under a storm watch though, looks like a weather system that came ashore has been given a big kick by the hurricane off the West coast of Mexico and we are a supposed to be enjoying a few days of rain. What after that? Hey, it’s the Ozarks. Who knows?

Indian summer, after a week of cold grey wet slosh. Alas, I think the whipsawing is doing a job on my constitution. I am a human barometer and it gets really, really old — there’s nothing glamorous about it, never has been.

About the same down here. Fall arrived early this year, but it’s still very nice on many days. We put on the wood stove at night probably half the time, but when the days are sunny and breezy, like today, it is actually very nice.

We had a bit of sleet the other day. It was my first day out after having Shingles and I had no shoes other than my faux-Birkenstocks… and no socks washed, yet.
I had planned to go and buy shoes before I got sick but by the time I got around to go to the store, it was too late. The next morning I woke up with Shingles. I went out on the sleety day to buy shoes and the woman at SEARS was so snotty, I would have gone elsewhere if I hadn’t been afraid of getting frostbite.

After a week of unbearable wind, it feels like spring has arrived in South Australia. There are even a few people out in the bay–still too cold for me.

Woke up this morning to the sound of it totally peeing down out there. It’s actually quite a soothing sound unless I know I have to go out in it (but I don’t have to go out for an hour and it seems to have slowed down to a light drizzle at the moment). The other good thing was waking up to discover it was 8.30 and that I had slept a whole seven hours!!! Wow, I feel reborn.
Thing is, we really need the rain here. When Sara & Steve were here mid-September we had the first rain in 100 days, and that was only a day or so of drizzly rain. Same when alejna & family were here a couple of weeks later. And since then … nada.
Then this week – seriously rainy rain. A couple of times I’ve looked outside and could barely see the houses across the street. I kind of like it, but Nog has had to go out teaching in it and came home totally soaked one day.
I hear ya about the shoes, Mudhooks. I’ve decided to polish up my old red Campers and try to get another winter out of them. Since I usually only wear shoes 4 months out of the year they tend to last a lot longer than my sandals. And although six years is kind of pushing it, I can’t really afford new shoes right now.
Have to say the cooler temps have been nice this week, but it looks like we’re back to sunshine and warm weather again after today.

Hey, my animated GIF has stopped working!
Are you seeing the raindrops falling around the cat?

yes, it’s raining on the poor kitty.
We’ve had a lovely autumn here. Cold crisp mornings, frozen nights and sunny days. It’s over now 😦 Now it’s cloudy and the occasional rain, everything from light sizzle to open waterfalls.
No ice on the water puddles however, so I’ve put my winter boots back to the shoe shelf again. Hope they will stay there for a while.

Yes on the GIF.
We were supposed to get rain but (although I can’t see the ground to see if it had rained earlier) it isn’t raining. We have had frost most mornings this week.
