Yesterday I went to the foster home where the three little kittehs are staying with one of the Defensa Felina volunteers, to finally meet them all in person and decide which cat was going to become Azar’s new buddy. And oh, what a decision to make! They were all adorable. Nog and I took turns cuddling each one, but the more we swapped kittens the harder it was getting to not want to take all of them home. So we put them down and watched them walking around a bit and then we put them in their little basket. And while the other two slept the little orange kitteh decided he still wanted to play…

Today’s photohunt theme is “average”.
This is the average temperature in Seville in August.
These tinajas at Casa Morales are somewhat larger than average.

These are the three little ones that one of the volunteers has at her home because they’re too small to leave at the shelter. Nog likes the orange one (great ears!) and I do too. But I also think the grey & white one has a very pretty face. And the black & white one looks quite mischievous. I should be able to meet them in person tomorrow…

This is the one that got away…
I went out to the cat shelter this morning with Nog because I was told there were a lot more cats out there than are shown on the Defensa Felina website and that there were also some smaller ones. They arranged for us to meet up with a volunteer who would drive us out, because the shelter (really just a big old abandoned house) is in a small village just outside Sevilla. Anyhow, there were no little ones there. And although many of the cats were very beautiful and also very affectionate, I had to think about what was best for Azar.
Then I spotted that little darling up there – Indira – who is about 5 months old. Not as small as I was looking for but I decided she would do just fine … and then they told me she was already spoken for! I am so disappointed. It was clear that she was MY cat because when the volunteer tried picking her up she squirmed and twisted until she was put down again. But when I picked her up to give her a cuddle she snuggled right into my arms and fell asleep … I am heart-broken.
So the search continues. You can see more pics below the links.
