Well, that didn’t take too long! Here it’s been about 20 months before the resident kittehs slept touching each other.

Yebbut, Loki is a FEARLESS KITTEN. Seriously, he thought nothing at all of Azar hissing and growling at him; he’d just scamper away like it was a game and boomerang right back again. And I actually think Azar got to see the humour in it. Or at least that resistence was futile.
One thing I noticed yesterday, now that Azar has become more active, is that it looks like he’s dislocated his shoulder! At first I thought he was walking funny because he was still weak from not having eaten much lately, but then I saw it was just kind of dangling there and when I snibbled him it felt all wrong. Will call vet later, but this could be why he’s been so poorly, though I don’t think it was the prime cause of his malaise. I think the shoulder thing happened later. Anyhoo – any massages I can give him? I don’t know what the hell the vet could do for him anyhow. When Lua dislocated her hip she got it popped back into place within a few hours, but Azar can’t actually use that leg much. I’m tellin’ ya, if it isn’t one thing it’s another.

I’d be afraid to suggest anything long-distance on another species but any smart vet should be on it. I do know of one case in which some idiot vet thought a dislocated hip was going to be a a matter for amputation but one of his colleagues sorted it out with no lasting repercussions.

Az, they can pop (move) the shoulder back into place. Ouuch for Azar!

Awwww…. I love that first photo with Lok peeking out from behind Azar! (actually looks like he is being sat upon!).

Loki, even!

Oh… I didn’t read about the possible dislocation! Should be fairly easy fro the vet to do. Sometimes they hae to sedate or at least give them a little something to get them to relax. Not always, though. Only if it is a “difficult” one.

Ouch, cute overload! (=^_^=)
I’m sure the vet will find a way to move azar’s shoulder back :bogbrush: So he is feeling better, eh?
Amusingly, they say that cat shoulders and bunny shoulders are similar, because of a property… mmh…. they call it “épaule flottante” in french, ‘floating shoulder’… er… Not sure what this means though. But I always remind my cat when I play Seven-Pounds-Rabbit with her.

Yeah, I’ve read about the floating shoulder thing too, but I didn’t know bunnies also had them. The front legs are attached to the body only by muscle, not any sort of collar bone. So it doesn’t sound like a question of “popping it back in”. Seriously have no idea how this happened unless it was during the second vet visit when we forgot to entirely remove the door of the carrier and Azar caught his leg in it while we were trying to get him out. There hasn’t been any other “traumatic event” as far as I know.
Dammit, gotta dig out the emergency credit card again…

Azar: “very deep deep deep inside I like you…but Loki you know I have kind of a reputation to hold on too…So as long as you keep it not to close…”

Heh, you can come over and meet him if you like. 🙂
The weather doesn’t look too promising for your visit though… 😦

Great pictures of the Furry Boys.
I love the way Azar is asserting his seniority by sitting on the highest part of the couch.
Me up here: Important.
Pipsqueak down there: Not.

Last night I blissfully fell asleep sandwiched between two cats. They both got under the duvet on either side of me and curled up at waist level so I could tuck my hands around them, and then they both burst into purrs. Stereo!
Later I woke up to find that they had shifted to the pillows and were sleeping on eithe side of my head. Too adorable.
I’m pretty sure that feeling unwell and having a sore shoulder was the cause of Azar’s initial crankiness with Loki. I was also confused as to why he’d sometimes hiss when I picked him up to force feed him. In fact, a couple of times I accidently called him Lua! And weird that I only noticed that his left shoulder blade was sticking out funny yesterday during a snibble, though it was actually the first time since he got sick that he was up to being snibbled (as opposed to cuddled).
The shoulder problem hasn’t stopped Azar from chasing Loki around the apartment, though he is noticably much clunkier when he runs. My favourite is when they are wrestling on the bed together and Loki rolls off the edge. 🙂
Oh, and I can no longer leave my socks or underwear lying around… http://twitpic.com/16g69w

Cute overload again 🙂
I know nothing about cats and dislocated shoulders. They’re usually quite easily replaced in humans, though.

What a great series of pictures! I’m so glad that the friend making process didn’t take too long. It took Mike about three years to get Smokey to allow him to share the bed, and even then things weren’t all that cordial. I think Smokey was born to be a curmudgeon.
Sure hope that Azar’s shoulder is easy to solve and heals quick.

That is the cutest series of pics EVER. Loki is clearly a kitteh who will not take ‘no’ for an answer, I love it!
Hope Azar’s shoulder turns out to be a pulled muscle rather than a dislocation of the joint though.

Oh, and I think the speed at which the two of them have become friends absolutely proves that you were right about Azar needing a feline friend after Sunny died. You totally did the right thing there!
