Like me, twitter friend AnnaLibera has a foodie alterego – hers is Panepanna. A trained chef, Anna also gives cooking classes in her home. Yesterday she was hosting a rice workshop and I was invited along as “guest twitterer”. It was fun. Anna not only showed us how to make three rice dishes (supplì, pilaf & risotto) but also had everyone take part in each stage. So it was very hands-on, especially when it came to making the supplì (breaded & fried rice balls filled with mozzarella). I abstained from getting my hands sticky so that I could send Twitter updates and also take some photos.
So, a nice day. I walked there and back (about 45 minutes each way) which was fine on the way there at 10.30 in the morning, but not so comfortable in the mid-afternoon HEAT on the way back. I’ve just heard it’s going up to 40º today … El Calor has arrived in Sevilla.
I’ve also posted about the workshop on azahar’s Sevilla blog.

I love cooking classes. This looks awesome

Very mixed feeling about that heat. On the one hand that is muy caliente.
On the other hand I’m showing an American friend round London today and the overcast weather and generally dismal temperature isn’t going to make it much fun.

Yeah, yesterday was the first really HOT day here … and plenty more coming up. It’s not great for walking around a lot, but I would prefer it to grey and dismal.

I just did the conversion. I hid inside today because it was around 95 F… five Celsius degrees below your day. OK, I’m a wuss.

It was really hot over the weekend. I turned the central air on, though it wasn’t really very cool except what it was circulating from the basement. At least it helped. The air conditioning guy from Sears is coming tomorrow so hopefully we can figure out what’s up with it.
At least it cooled down over Monday and today but the heat is going up again tomorrow.
Because Benjamin was “complained about” I have had to keep him in until I have the latticing up around the back yard. He is really upset with me.
