For some reason Istanbul has been coming up on Twitter and in other conversations lately, and I find myself filled with a longing to visit, though my heart is also drawn to places I’ve already been to like Lisbon, Tangier, London…
So just for the heck of it, here are my top five dream destinations of places I’ve not yet been, in no particular order:
- Instanbul
- Florence
- Edinburgh
- New York
- Greek Islands
What are yours?
Nice list and interesting post! I actually really have to think about this statement… Some places directly pop to mind, but I’m not sure of the order… I’ll get back to you about this one!
Love,
Caroline

I just did mine in random order. But I’ve actually been offered the use of an apartment in Florence…

I’m in Bangkok at the moment. This is one of my favorite cities. On my way to another of my favorites (and my new home later this year)….Chiang Mai.
To answer your question:
1. Florence (again)
2. Morocco
3. Jordan
4. Paris (I was there when I was 18, and would love to go back and “see” it as an adult.)
5. Turkey (I was in Izmir when I was a teenager. Loved the history, and again, would love to see the country as an adult.)
6. The Maldives (All that water…..)

And I forgot Alaska! I’ve never seen the Northern Lights! We’ll probably get to do that in a few years. I hope there’s a glacier or two left by then.

There are so many place I haven’t been that I’d like to visit. Some of them are not so exotic or far away, either. I see one of the comments mentions Yellowstone, a place I’ve visited a few times. Even though it sees a lot of tourists, it remains a really fantastic place, and I’m looking forward to going back. I haven’t contemplated a list of places, but off-hand, I’d say Italy has to be on it.

It’s not called Ayres Rock anymore, darling.
Why does everyone want to go to so many cold places? Alaska, Arctic Circle, St Petersburg??
I grew up seeing the Northern lights on a regular basis. They are glorious, but also capricious. You could spend a whole whack of money going to see them and never end up seeing them.

Uluru then 😉
I suppose, having been born in New Zealand and brought up there and in the UK I have never experienced that cold. I’ve holidayed in the sun, so have experienced the heat, but there is something appealing about that frozen quality of the landscape.
