Two years ago I set up this Sevilla English site to try and scare up a bit of business in the classes and translations department, which never really took off. Then today I decided to take it a step further and get Nog involved, switching his Twitter account name (which he rarely used) from the_noggin to SevillaEnglish, and I also set up a Facebook Fan Page for which we are both administrators but that he can mostly maintain.
I reckon that getting active in social media and connecting with local people and businesses may end up helping him get enough work so that he won’t have to pack up and go back to Wales. So let’s hope he sticks with this and gets things happening!
Hopefully, this will pan out. Fingers crossed.

I’m actually quite excited about this and wonder why I didn’t think of it sooner. The usual ways of looking for students (ads, posters) haven’t been working for ages. But this way is not only less passive, it’s also fun and has already opened up ideas. I’m thinking Nog could start offering morning and weekend English coffee groups as a Facebook event where people who want to practice speaking together with a moderator can meet up for a couple of hours , for x-amount per person. Also Skype classes for people who are too busy to get away from work or home. I’m sure that once things start moving a bit that more great ideas will present themselves as a matter of course. But at least the first step has been made.

Sounds like a very positive move. I just hope Nog gets motivated & remains so, to run with this!
