Have pretty much been “off work” this month. By this I mean no tours, but as usual I keep busy working on other things. No money coming in though, so I’ve been having a staycation and enjoying some nice lazy days. Even getting some reading done! And I take a walk every day, either morning/midday or in the evening. Much cooler in the evenings, and I get to see scenes like this. How’s your summer going?
summer, what summer?? this is England. To be fair we had some days in July but since them mostly rain. SO much rain. Glad you’re back to reading – you always had a book on the go when I knew you in the old days! I’ve just finished Lincoln in the Bardo – it’s a kind of ghost story, weird, wonderful and so beautifully written – highly recommend. xx

I saw that London temps were like Sevilla in January a week or so ago! We’ve been lucky here as there have only been a handful of days when it hit 40º, otherwise it’s been a very comfortable summer. Good sleeping weather.

What Elizabeth said! I don’t like too much heat though so it’s ok.
I’m off to visit my mum in Catral (Costa Blanca) in just over 3 weeks – my brother’s there just now and tells me they’re getting temps in the high 30s and it’s really humid…hoping that goes before I get there, I can take the heat but the humidity leaves me wretched.

Luckily Sevilla is quite dry, so even when it’s 40º here it is actually easier for me to take than, for example, 30º in Málaga, where it’s super humid. In three weeks I’m sure things will be cooler. Humid heat makes me feel like I’m being smothered.
