Well, it’ll be something different to do on Sunday! An indoor race (both running and walking are permitted) whereby people count steps on their devices and send in screen shots of the final number on their Instagram accounts with the hashtag #EdpEchaUnCable. Then power company EDP will donate money to the Red Cross, based on the number of steps calculated…
Yeah I know, they could just donate the money (I mean, why not?) but I think it’s not a bad thing to promote something like this, get people involved, and get them moving.
So I’ll be up early(ish) on Sunday with my iphone in my pocket and will walking all around my apartment, up on the roof, maybe even up and down the stairs. You could join in too.Β π
Spanish Red Cross is an excellent cause too. I experienced their hospitality when I was in Spain last September when mum’s site was evacuated because of the flooding. We spent our first night in a sports hall in Crevillente and Cruz Roja were first class. They’d thought of everything. With breakfast the next morning they handed out packs containing all the personal hygiene stuff you could want, including sanitary products. And they were so kind to us foreigners dazed & confused in the middle of the night.
We spent the next 3 nights in a hotel, but the site mum lives on reimbursed the cost – and we donated it straight to Cruz Roja.

What a wonderful heartwarming story, Deb. Yes, this is definitely for a good cause, so will attempt to get up early and get in as many steps as possible between 10am-2pm.
