So my lovely across the street neighbours Antonio and Ana are back! After having spent most of the pandemic in a small beach village to avoid contact with lots of people. Now they are vaccinated and back home. But OMG imagine my horror when I heard “Hola Shawn!” as I was sitting at my desk, balcony doors flung open, wearing my crappy PJs (the ones I work out in because “hey nobody can see me!”, not the other nicer ones that I can actually receive deliveries in) and I had to step out onto the balcony to say hello looking like god knows what (hair a mess, no makeup). I think I need to up my pyjama game, even on days when I’m not going anywhere.

Ha! The Engineer has been wearing a t-shirt and pajama pants all day for months, until I finally had to buy him an extra pair because I couldn’t keep up with laundering the ones he had. Now he’s back to work (from his computer) and has decided to wear khaki shorts because those are “daytime clothes” even though the Zoom meetings don’t show him below the head and shoulders either way. Me, I’m in gym baggies like I have been for the past 20 years.

Truth is, I have ALWAYS changed clothes after getting home, and those clothes were always comfy PJ-style stuff, but the important thing was that they were never worn out in the street. There’s a story behind this… will share it soon.

Right before lockdown I bought a couple of pairs of baggy black leggings as they had pockets and I thought they’d make a nice change from pyjama bottoms (I also like to get into the comfy stuff when I get home π ). I’ve pretty much lived in those two pairs for the last year along with, depending on on the weather, a pair of cosy turtle neck jumpers (red or purple) or a pair of baggy T-shirts (bright blue or bright pink). They are all now beyond disgraceful!
TMI alert: I did try forgoing the bra too (dreadful invention!) but I work at the dining room table and the table height:droop ratio makes that a bit uncomfortable π
I’m sure your neighbours were so pleased to see you they didn’t even notice.

Do you remember the covid comfort bras? There’s no going back. But I (mostly) can’t wear them out in public. And I can’t go totally without at home because (tmi alert) the girls are just too heavy!
Now that it’s warmer I am actually wearing “day and night” nightdresses instead of pjs. Same deal though.
