I usually scroll past these “mindfulness quotes” when they pop up on my social media but for some reason I stopped to read this one and… ufff. Over the weekend I’d been starting to panic that the first week of my staycation was almost over and what had I done with all that TIME? What did I have to show for it? I was already feeling like I was letting myself down. So even though I know it’s corny, this helped remind me to take time to breathe. It’s okay.
I got made redundant at the end of May. I decided to take a week off just to decompress from what was a really stressful job in the end, but also to mourn the job I’d still loved for 28 years. Then I thought I’d get loads done in the house and garden, whilst still looking for work. By the end of June I had completed exactly nothing! But I had decompressed, destressed, and made my peace with my situation, leaving me fresh and enthusiastic going into July, and my new job.
Oh yeah, that’s something I managed to do in June, get a better paid, more focussed job – working from home all but 2 days a month.
So who knows what will come out of your month of breathing?

Wow, you really hit the Breathing Jackpot! So happy for you. I can’t hope to reach those heights, but you’re right that the “achievement” at the end of the summer may be something I hadn’t even expected.
