I have received this KickAss Blogger award from alejna!

I saw this while I was in hospital yesterday and it both cheered me up and choked me up, especially when alejna wrote: What I find most endearing about az is that she makes it easy for me to forget that I haven’t met her in “real life” . I remember her telling me that before, I think when we started playing online scrabble, and it’s just about the nicest thing anyone has ever said about me. Thanks for that, honey, as well as the rest of that blush-making tribute.

I’m supposed to pass this award on, but as my online time is somewhat restricted at the moment (this danged J-shaped scar is causing quite a bit of pain and keeps making me lie down), I’m going to pass the buck instead and suggest that you all nominate yourselves and then pass it along.

Thanks to this little gadget (and the lovely & amazingly wonderful Pipocas) my looming hospital experience is now looking to be much less tedious than the last one. I was planning on taking Nog’s laptop with me to watch DVDs anyhow (his is smaller and more portable than mine) but now I’ll also be able to go online! Isn’t that fabulous? So I’ll be able to blog and chat and play scrabble whilst trying to ignore my roommate’s blaring television programmes. Of course this will only happen once I am able to sit up and move around … I’m hoping by day 3 after the op.

I got this idea from Silverstar, who has a very cosy looking blogging space. This is where I sit to blog  and otherwise obsess spend time on the internet (when I’m not curled up with the laptop in bed ). It’s pretty minimalist, but all of casa az tends to be fairly uncluttered. What it normally isn’t is this tidy – Nog has recently dusted and reorganised the bookshelves (an annual event here). As you can see,  there are more books than last year and my IKEA wheelie chair is now falling to bits, but I actually kind of prefer it without the back piece.

I like blogging in here because it’s a big bright room and yet still feels cosy somehow, here in my little corner. Note large cat in corner of photo stealing smaller cat’s food …

watermarks

A couple of days ago I came across a kind of travel/lifestyle website and saw that someone had uploaded some photos from my tapas blog without crediting them or linking back. Which reminded me of something I’ve been thinking of doing for awhile now, which is to start watermarking my photos.

I’ve been looking around for some free (or cheap) watermarking tools or software. The one shown above is a free online watermark tool but, although I can watermark photos in batches with it, afterwards I have to copy each photo to my computer individually, which is a lot of work. Especially as I want to replace ALL the pics on my tapa blog with watermarked ones.

Any suggestions?
