I have decided to look for temporary lodgers (a month here, a month there) to help out with the rent while I continue to work on other (hopefully money-making) projects. Ideally it will be for people who are here doing work or research, or mature students. A two-week minimum stay, probably two months maximum. Main requirements are that they are quiet and respectful. Oh, and aren’t allergic to cats.
The apartment is in a great location, very central. Lots of light, and access to a private rooftop. Good WiFi, fully furnished, very comfy. So if you are interested or know of anyone who wants to share a place for awhile, let me know!

This actually works better when I’m also wearing a sweater, to keep my neck and shoulder from getting clawed to smithereens. And in summer it’s pretty much impossible, due to light summer dresses and the aforementioned personal injury. But this is how I spend most mornings, at my desk in front of the computer with a cup of coffee and my darling girl on my shoulder. She has recently taken to nuzzling my ear with her little nose, purring like mad, and I just melt. This little girl owns my heart.

So this would normally appear in Azahar’s Kitchen (and it will!) but I got so excited about this (yeah, I know, sad…) that I wanted to share it here too.
In the past, whenever I would see recipes that called for you to peel your garbanzos I always thought Are You Crazy, No F-ing Way, Life’s Too Short, etc etc. Then I accidently discovered this method. Well, probably everyone knows it, but it was news to me. While I was drying the rinsed garbanzos (to crispy roast them) I rolled them around in a tea towel to get them extra dry and – magic! – the skins just slid right off. Yay!
