It’s rather a long article and I think some of it is kinda crap, but there are some interesting ideas in it nevertheless.

What is it about men with colds?
Like, why do we need to be given the fifteen-minute update?
And why can’t they seem to manage doing basic stuff that has little or nothing to do with how much they are sniffling or sneezing? Without having to announce these amazing feats of accomplishment to the world at large (ie. me).
Yeah, you guessed it. Nog has a cold.

Panic attacks affect a lot of us and are often not very well understood, even by those experiencing them.
They also take many forms. They can feel like an impending sense of death or doom, a fear of losing one’s sanity, a feeling of losing control … all of which create a very strong sense of FEAR and panic.
What types of remedies or methods for controlling this feeling of panic work best for you?

Is it possible to feel anger without fear? Does fear always come first?
Recently rewatched the original Star Wars trilogy and was struck by how many times this Fear/Anger theme was mentioned. Especially with regards to Luke having to let go of his internal fear and anger in order to confront the ‘outside’ things that he fears.
I can certainly recall feeling fear without any anger. But I’m hard pressed to think of a situation in which I felt anger without also feeling either afraid or threatened somehow.
So, is Yoda right? Or is it a chicken & egg scenario?

Lots of us have them.
In fact, I think all of us have them to varying degrees. Those little things that help us get through the day. And hopefully help us move forward, because I don’t think that the occasional use of personal crutches precludes self-growth and personal awareness.
And I’m not just talking about the usual crutch suspects like booze, cigs, drugs, food, etc. In fact, the ‘crutches’ I’m talking about can also be quite healthy things or even simply specific activities that we do to ‘recharge our batteries’.
Sometimes our days can seem so repetitive and tedious that at times it can all feel a bit soul-destroying and pointless. Or else stress builds up and we lose sight of what is really important.
What helps you keep going during these times and helps make it all feel worthwhile?
