I’m baaaaack!
Well sorta kinda anyhow. And now I would like to RANT a bit . . . 
It all started last week when my internet connection kept conking out for 5-10 minutes at a time. Annoying, but not worth calling the server and raising my blood pressure (which happens every time I call those ‘customer inconvenience’ numbers). Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! It’s the haircut from hell!!!
I shoulda known better as it had been that kind of day. Nog met me after my first and only class this morning (we’re both off for the rest of the day) and suggested we go to see an exhibit called Discover the Discoverers at the Alcázar (Royal Palace) about old sea voyages of discovery, and then look for the wonderful wall of pointsettas there that I’d heard about. And then Nog said it might also be a good day to get my hair cut as I’d mentioned I wanted to get it cut before going to Barcelona. So, sounded like a fine plan for the rest of the morning …

why?. . . why??? . . . why?????
WHY do so many people spell the word losing as loosing ???
Hell, it’s not even a word, let alone a verb – the verb is loosen.
I honestly don’t get it. If it only happened now and again I could write it off as simple bad spelling habits, but it happens all the time and all over the place!!!

I want it now!!!
I think it was Woody Allen who said that the only thing wrong with instant gratification is that it takes too long.
I was reminded of this today when I went to get a new mobile phone. It turned out that I could get phone for free if I switched from pay-as-you-go to a monthly contract, so I decided to do that and picked out a really cute one . . . and then!!! . . . the computer was down at the store and they couldn’t process my stuff and they said I’d have to wait until tomorrow. But I had already been really looking forward to playing around with the phone and figuring out how it worked and was even feeling impatient about having to wait the 10 hours while it charged up and so I ended up feeling soooo disappointed that I couldn’t take my new toy home straight away. 
And well okay, I’m over it … honest. No, really. Well, almost. But anyhoodle, this incident reminded me of how crap I often am with having to wait for something I want.
How about you? Are you any good with this delayed gratification thang?
