Because today I am in Ronda… geddit?
Love the crazy dance moves on the guy far right.
And when the dancing girls kicked in I almost sprayed my coffee. 🙂
From a much simpler time when ill-fitting trousers were de rigeur.

Because this is the celebration of Woodie Guthrie’s 100th birthday I thought I would put up something by that American folk legend, except all I could find on YouTube were various versions of This Land Is Your Land. Which may be a great folk song, but frankly it’s not one of my favourites. So instead here is another travelling song written and performed by Woodie’s son Arlo. I remember listening to this as a restless teenager and longing to get on a train to New Orleans or anywhere…

There’s always something endearing about pre-80s videos.
The same cannot be said for 70s hairstyles…
Happy song though, isn’t it? 🙂

Wow, a lotta time has passed since I first came across Matt dancing his way around the world. His style has changed and the snippets are much more choreographed. I think I preferred the simpler version, but am quite pleased to see Seville in the opening scenes of this video (taken in the square next to the cathedral and the old casa az).

Ladysmith Black Mambazo and Des’ree
Who’da thunk anyone other than Bill Withers could do this song justice?
