Tried roasting whole garlics in the STORMCOOKER™️ the other day and all I can say is… wow! Of course this can also be done in a regular oven but I am so enjoying not having had to use my oven since getting the air fryer. Saves heating up the entire kitchen in summer and, more importantly, with soaring energy costs (last electricity bill was double that for the same month and consumption last year!) this should help a little. And every little bit helps.
Anyhow, slice off the end of the garlic bulb, drizzle with some olive oil, season with salt and pepper, wrap it in foil and cook at 190ºC for 20-25 minutes (be careful of hot steam coming out when unwrapping). Then have fun squishing the soft sweet cloves out of their papery casing. So easy and so delicious.

Another fab time meeting Twitter pals, in this case Cathy and her husband Mark (who are also friends and Algarve neighbours of Yin & Phil who I met a couple of weeks ago). Anyhow, this was a flying visit for them but we managed to fit in a penúltima (or three) at my local bar down the street before they headed off for dinner. Since Cathy and I have “known” each other for years it was like meeting up with an old friend. Hope they’ll be back soon.

This morning I woke up after a strange but not overly disturbing dream and thought, well, that one wasn’t so bad. Then it occurred to me that I couldn’t remember the last time I’d had a happy dream. Or even if I’d ever had one. My sleep tends to be either dreamless or else fraught with anxiety dreams (or worse), many with recurring themes, and so I wake up either (preferred) drifting out of a dark sleepy fog or (more often) jolted awake, awash with deep seeded panic and dread. And don’t even get me started on some of the haunting images that sometimes take all day to shake off. And so I wondered… are happy dreams a myth? Does anyone have happy dreams any more? Did we ever? How about you?
