Christmas lights were turned on this past Thursday. These are some I saw on my way to pick up Tapas Tour clients. I’d actually gone out earlier to get some pics but – being a public holiday – it was total madness and I got away from LA BULLA as soon as I could. I’ll try again on Tuesday…

Good grief! The ONLY people I recognised in this new version were Bob Geldoff and effing Bono. Also, you know me… usually the crazy happy Christmas person that Humbugs find annoying. But this video, aimed at “stopping the virus”, is just dreadful.
I’ll stick with the original – 30 year old! – version (though I didn’t remember it being so “male-dominated”)…

Here in Spain Christmas lottery tickets cost 20 euros each. An out of work guy couldn’t afford to buy a lottery ticket for the first time and – yep – the neighbourhood bar where he’s always bought them in the past ends up winning the big prize. Millions. And his wife convinces him to go down and congratulate the bar owner and all the others who’d bought their tickets there. And then I ended up in a flood of tears…

Today is traditionally the day when Los Reyes Magos (the magic kings, or three wise men) bring gifts to the children of all ages in Spain. But this year my gifts came by Magic Sled… love them!

Everybody I’ve met this past week on my tapas tours has mentioned The Oranges. They are just so plentiful and, well, orange! I remember my first Christmas here in Sevilla and being struck at how wonderful it was that all the oranges were like natural festive ornaments on the trees that were enhanced with pretty white fairy lights (those were the days – these days they use blue lights that aren’t nearly as lovely). Anyhow, loved this moment coming home after my lunchtime tapas tour on Christmas day, after the rain had stopped.
