Absolutely the best decorations Sevilla has ever come up with. Love the giant baubles in Plaza San Francisco, as well as the tastefully coordinated silver and gold lights along Avda de la Constitución, calles Sierpes & Tetuan, and in Plaza Nueva. Simply beautiful. Hoping this classy trend will continue and we will no longer be subjected to garish pinks and purples, with the Avenida looking like a cheap Vegas strip. Also minimal blue lights in the trees this year – another bonus!

Finally turned on! But ONLY turned on between 6.30 and 11.00 pm. Really? All LIGHTS OFF at 11 pm when the streets are still full of people, locals and holiday merry-makers alike? It makes me sad when I’m walking home after a Sevilla Tapas Tour to see the Christmas lights turned off… in Málaga they stay on until 2 am!

Figures that the first time in 18 years that I’m not living in Mateos Gago street they decide to put up Christmas lights. Wish I could say the – ahem – “soft focus” was intentional…
