We finally made it!
As some of you may remember, Nog and I had planned to go to Carmona a couple of months ago but the weather was a bit dodgy that day and so we put it off.
Well, today was the day! I only had one class this morning, the weather was gorgeous (bright sunny skies, temperature got up to 18ΒΊ) and so we decided to get on the bus and go to Carmona for the afternoon. It’s only about half an hour away by car (takes a bit longer by bus) so we left around 12.30 and we were back home by about 7pm.
When we arrived in Carmona the first thing we needed was a snack (I had skipped brekky and Nog hadn’t had his elevenses) so we found a little bar in the main square, sat out in the sun and had a couple of tapas. We also met a very friendly and chatty bar cat – totally shameless girl! She went around from table to table getting tidbits from everyone and even stood on her hind legs putting front paws on the table to get attention. π
After our snack we strolled around the town for a couple of hours, ending up at the famous Parador Hotel there. Then we made our way back to the centre of town around 4pm and by then we were ready for lunch. We chose a different bar in the main square and sat out in the sun once again . . . and found our friendly neighbourhood bar cat there as well! π
Anyhow, it was a lovely day and here are some photos we took …
wow! Beautiful pictures of a nice town.
Liked the cat. Seems as she know how to get fed π I’ve “always” wanted a red cat, but so far no one such has crossed my ways.

Lovely, az.
And now we have to add Carmona to our list of places-in-Spain.
Looking at those blue skies, I’m wondering why on earth we’re living in the UK.
SE Englandshire has been dreich, damp and dreary today.

It’s certainly a nice place to visit, but the thought did cross our minds as to what you would do if you actually lived there.

Turn into a bar cat? π

Beautiful photos! It looks like another place that would be nice to visit. And what a cute cat. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bar cat before.
I’m glad you finally had the weather for it- when I make it to Spain, I’d like to come during weather like that!

Gosh, I am just green with envy. I absolutely loved the foundtain in the courtyard at Hotel Parador, also all that beautiful rock work. The bar cat looks like she is making a fine living. I like red cats too, haven’t had one for a while.
Makes me wonder why we can’t have some architecture like this in the midwest.

Um, lack of Moors perhaps? Anyhow, we’ve saved the map for you just in case.

But a word of warning. Just possibly the world’s most useless map. Probably designed to stop tourists finding the way out again.

That bar cat looks so smart. She’s got quite the racket going there, and she knows it! Such plush fur she has.
I loved that patio in your first picture. The closest we have here to buildings with that feeling of age is the California missions. They date from about 1700, and are very spanish in feel. Not the same lovely stonework, though.
The sky is that blue that almost hurts my eyes, it’s so deep. Sigh. All in all, a most lovely place; Sevilla is lovely, as well.
Happy New Year to you both, and a healthy, happy, and wealthy one, too! (hug)
