My favourite bit was “it doesn’t even touch the sides!” 🙂
Yeah, it was pretty much like that. And next time I’m definitely putting my toilet paper in the fridge. 😉
Meanwhile, the doctor who did my colonoscopy on Monday said I was “badly prepped”. Apparentlly I wasn’t cleaned out enough, even though I took all the gack and followed all the instructions. He said there were no polyps but there was something he said was a granuloma that they took samples of to be biopsied, though the report says there was no sign of neoplastic recurrence. It’s a bit confusing, so I hope my oncologist can help clear things up this morning.

Did he say tablets? I had to down this foul clear liquid and then wait for the gates to open. Everything is like he said, eh? – like a hose set to wide spray… 🙂

I tried getting the tablets but neither my GP or my pharmacist had heard of them. Weird, because when I called the hospital to ask if I could take tablets instead of the gack they said that would be fine, but that I’d have to get my GP to prescribe them because they only had the powder stuff at their pharmacy.
Yep, I downed 4 litres of the gack on Sunday. Mixed it with 1/4 orange gatorade and 3/4 water to try and make it more orangy but it was still awful.

Oh, good news about the colonoscopy results. I think.

Glad you all liked it so much. 🙂
So, it turns out that the colonoscopy results were normal, as in GOOD. Apparently biospies are always taken when they do a colonoscopy on someone who has had surgery. Dr Ana says everything looks good and I have chemo tomorrow morning at 9am. I hope my hospital buddy can make it as I thought the appointment was going to be at 11.00. Still waiting to hear back on that.
Today was so frustrating. Originally Nog was going to change his two morning classes to another day and come with me, but then Pablo came to the rescue last minute and said he could go. I had to get blood taken at 10.00 and then see the onc, and was sure I was going to be out of there by 12.00 … 1.00 at the latest. No way.
At 12.30 it was clear that I wasn’t going to be out by 1.00 and Pablo had to leave for a meeting, so Nog ended up coming after all – the changing of the guard – and in the end we didn’t get out of there until 2.30! Four and a half bloody hours.
I should have kept to my old schedule of having blood work one day, then oncologist, then chemo – it was Dr Ana who suggested doing the blood work and seeing her on the same morning. I know that in the end dividing it between two mornings probably still takes four and a half hours, but a morning bike ride with a fifteen minute stop for a jab isn’t the same as hanging around the hospital for hours waiting for your results to come back. Also, I can manage the blood test visit on my own and that cuts down on having to ask people to come with me.
But, at least the test results were good, and Dr Ana agreed to take me off the Dexametasona, which was what caused my massive depression crash last time. I really don’t want to go through that again. I couldn’t stop crying for about 3-4 days and everything felt completely black and hopeless. Hell, I didn’t even post anything on my blog that week! I posted “time to stretch” and then fell apart. Bleh.
So today I have been drinking nothing but icy cold beverages. As soon as they start pumping the oxiplatin into me tomorrow morning that’ll be it for about ten days. Oh well, at least I feel good now. 🙂

Oh Dearie Me.
I’d forgotten that was so funny. He deals with the scatalogical rather well.
Sounds like a frustrating day was had at the hospital but I’m very glad the results were good.
