Early this morning I heard the first blackbird of the year singing outside my balcony windows … later I went out for a walk and was immediately hit by the gorgeous fragrance of orange blossom in the air. It hadn’t been there yesterday! What a perfect first day of spring. And of course, I was wearing my trusty Mephistos…
Spring at last!

We had a touch of snow… 😦

The Vancouver Olympic commitee issued the first ever allergy alert to Winter Olympians in February. No snow at low elevations but lots of blossoms! It was so early this year that they had to cancel the Cherry Blossom Festival, which I never really ‘got’ actually. In Japan it’s huge but here it’s a couple of bus tours and a picnic.
I had my heart set on being in Sevilla for the orange blossoms, I always seem to miss it. Maybe next year? 😦
