Had a great time yesterday. Went out to the bodega late morning and I got a bit of work done there while Victoria took care of some business. Then we went through photos together, made a video, talked about her upcoming work & travel schedule and, after a quick lunch at a small bar around the corner, came back to the bodega to work a bit more. Later on two wine distributors showed up for their tour of the vineyards, so off we went. Got back to the bodega a couple of hours later, hung out some more doing this and that until Victoria drove me back into town. Finally got home around 10.30, tired but very pleased with all we got done. After a nice shower I put on comfy clothes, made a snack, and sat on the sofa watching a DVD (and my favourite port view). It felt good.

This is a view of the vineyards (Granada is just behind that big moutain on the right). There’ll be more pics and info about the harvest and wine pressing later on… I’ve got so much new material to work with that it’ll take awhile to sort it all out. And I’ll have another meeting with Victoria in town one morning this week to review a few things. Did I say how much I love this job?
Back on holiday today.Β π

You’re certainly well ahead on today’s blog … it’s not actually the 18th here yet! You seem to have had a busy but instructive & interesting day … & what a beautiful view … so glad everything’s working out so well for you & especially that you’re enjoying it all so much. Andrew is staying at Bynea for a few days so we’ll catch up with him when we go over there tomorrow … or should I say today? It’s difficult to know as it still isn’t the 18th here, although it will be in 18 minutes’ time!!!

It is actually today over here… or it was when I posted this.
And since I plan on sleeping in I thought it best to put this post to bed before me.
And what are you doing up so late anyhow? π

I thought you were going to say something about your favorite port, as in wine, and wondered if we had crossed a border without being told…

Nah, I meant *this* port view – this pic was taken about an hour ago…
I’ve actually never tasted port. Should I be admitting this publicly? Perhaps it’s time to visit Lisbon again.

You sound really busy but also really chilled. Being on holiday is a wonderful feeling, isn’t it? And when that holiday is by the sea, well…

That describes it perfectly, Deb. Busy & chilled. It’s a great combination. π

I did realise that the time difference was responsible for the anomaly! I wasn’t up much later … not long enough to pick up your reply last night. But we don’t keep very regular hours – it all depends on how tired we are & what we’ve got on! Paul’s just phoned to say he’s on his way home, so I must go & put the finishing touches to lunch. Hope you’re stilll feeling both chilled & busy … I agree that that’s the perfect combination!

I’m not exactly keeping regular hours myself this week. For example, just got home now (after midnight) from a late tapas snack. I’d only had popcorn for lunch so around 10 o’clock I thought it would do me good to get out and wander around for awhile – and it did! Now I think I’ll go watch another episode of Mad Men…

And when you can combine being on holiday with such a fascinating and fun job, well, even being at work has got to seem sort of like being on holiday. Those grapes look fantastic.
