Well this works! I was in the middle of preparing yesterday’s lunch when I noticed that the roasting pan I had bought for the air fryer a couple of years ago was in pretty bad shape. A quick look online and a quick trip to El Corte Inglés later and… brand new “BPA free” silicone thingy. I was a bit unsure about it at first, and being non-biodegradable they’re not exactly “eco-friendly”, but oh well. It’s mine now. As for functionality, it cooked everything just fine but it doesn’t really brown food as it doesn’t conduct heat. Anyhow, it will be useful for stuff like this…

Free-range chicken thighs marinated in yoghurt, lemon/lime and spices, with garbanzos, red onions, baby spinach and cilantro. Recipe here.
It’s such a pity buying from the el Corte inglés when the small independent shops in Seville need the business. Only a few weeks ago we noticed 2 shops selling household items and a knife shop are all closing. I guess we like the convenience of the major department store but that comes at a cost to the city with small family run businesses closing.

Emily, I don’t know you but I reckon I score a few extra “virtue points” for not ordering from Amazon 😉. Anyhow, all the independent houseware shops near me either do not stock silicone cookware or they aren’t open on Sunday, which was when I required the item. Meanwhile, the knife shop you referred to didn’t close from lack of custom or local support, but because the entire building has been bought by a multi-national investment group and they are getting kicked out. I think you will find that I do more than my fair share of supporting local businesses.
