One of the good things about having someone come to stay in your home is that it gives you a push to CLEAN THE PLACE UP. I mean, Casa Az is generally tidy and basic cleaning is done on a regular basis, but this week is all about getting some extra spring cleaning stuff done before leaving for London on Friday.
As both Peter and I will be gone for a few days the lovely Ania has offered to come and stay with the cats. She’s actually really looking forward to it. As Ania travels so much she can’t have cats of her own – and she LOVES cats. So this will give not only give her a Gato Getaway, but also a chance to stay in the centre of town for a change. It’s win-win for everybody, including the cats.
Right, got to wash the balcony windows now…
Springing forward tonight – the bonus being that when the cats start pestering for brekkie tomorrow at 7am it will actually be 8am. Sort of…
All the cats were fine, as always, after the Sanlúcar Getaway. Two nights max is the longest I will ever leave them on their own. But although well-fed and watered, and with an extra sand box and all that… this is what they missed the most. And me too.
It isn’t that all the cats here don’t get along – they (mostly) do. But Loki is such a big glomping galoot and sometimes he plays rough (clamping his massive jaws around Morcilla’s tiny neck, for example). But these two are pretty much evenly matched and I love watching them chase each other around until they get tired out and then curl up together for a cosy snooze. Here they are clearly planning some mischief…
Taken in March 2010… Loki was just a few months old (can you see his green eyes, Deb?) and Azar had finally decided that this stripy orange munchkin was his new pal. You know, I look at Azar in this pic, and his little bendy paw, and I can almost feel him, which makes me ache inside, and wish I could hold him again. Then I look at Loki… and cannot believe he was ever that small! Lovely boys, both of them.
