Your Five Variable Love Profile

Propensity for Monogamy:

Your propensity for monogamy is high.
You find it easy to be devoted and loyal to one person.
And in return, you expect the same from who you love.
Any sign of straying, and you’ll end things.

Experience Level:

Your experience level is high.
You’ve loved, lost, and loved again.
You have had a wide range of love experiences.
And when the real thing comes along, you know it!

Dominance:

Your dominance is medium.
You tend to be the one with more power.
You aren’t a total control freak in relationships..
But of course you don’t mind getting your way!

Cynicism:

Your cynicism is low.
You are an eternal optimist when it comes to love and romance.
No matter how many times you’ve been hurt – you’re never bitter.
You believe in one true love, your perfect soulmate.
And if you haven’t found true love yet, you know you will soon.

Independence:

Your independence is medium.
In relationships, you need both “me time” and “we time.”
You usually find it easy to be part of a couple.
But occasionally you start to feel a little smothered.

totally knackered…

    . . . but in a nice way.

Got back from Lisbon about two hours ago. Earlier today we both felt we weren’t quite ready to come back but as soon as we got in the door it felt good to be home again. First item on the agenda was to make a huge fuss over the cats. Well, cat – Azar still isn’t speaking to us, but Sunny greeted us in his lovable doggy manner as soon as we came in and has been demanding constant attention ever since. I reckon Azar will forgive us and come for a cuddle once we get into bed.

Aside from feeling totally knackered I’m also feeling very happy about our trip – it was the best holiday yet. Quite different from Barcelona in that Lisbon really felt like ‘home’ almost as soon as we arrived. And four days wasn’t nearly enough.

Anyhow, I’ve got close to 400 photos to sort through and upload, as well as coming up with an edited version of the daily notes I wrote.

But right now I really need to sleep. So hasta mañana . . .

Love it.

Waking up at the same time in the middle of the night and starting to sleepily chat. And I don’t know if it’s the hour, being rather drowsy, feeling warm and cosy (it’s probably all of these things) but these ‘pillow talk’ conversations tend to be much more intimate than daytime ones, talking about hopes and fears, memories and random thoughts. There are no distractions and the only sound other than our own voices is usually a cat or two purring. And the nicest bit is discovering something new about the person you see every day and being reminded of why you love each other. f_magic.gif

Of course, now that I’ve taken the What Corset Are You? quiz over at raincoaster’s and discovered I’m ‘vinyl/fetish’ things might get a bit friskier in the wee hours. f_bigeyes.gif

happily ever after?

sleep.jpg      Misery: the secret to happiness

Jan Parker of the Association of Family Therapy said: “The authors are right to point out that the pursuit of relationship nirvana can be potentially damaging.”

She said it was important to explore what people mean by a happy and healthy relationship, because nobody’s life or relationship can be in a permanent state of happiness – there will always be more difficult times.

This sounds like kind of a no-brainer to me, but apparently there are a lot of people out there who have been brainwashed into thinking that getting married somehow gives them a guarantee of living ‘happily ever after’. It certainly wasn’t always so.

I blame Hollywood. 😉

. . . are made of this?

More and more couples in the US are ordering separate master bedrooms in their new homes to help ensure a more harmonious marriage, research suggests.

What do you think? I’ve always thought having separate bedrooms (what the heck, separate suites) would be a fabulous way to live together with an intimiate other. You’d still get all the togetherness and sharing stuff, and of course you could still sleep together anytime you both wanted to … in fact, wouldn’t that be even sexier than always having to sleep together due to lack of space? You could take turns inviting each other over when you felt like having company, and when you felt like reading half the night or just having a comfy whole-bed-to-yourself experience you could do that too.

Well, if it’s good enough for royalty . . .

Meanwhile, the article also makes some good points about conflicting schedules, sleeping habits, etc. getting in the way of an otherwise happy relationship.
