… and I would love to know how this feels.
Caught Loki having a battle with my wheelie chair this morning. This was after he had a go at the bedroom door curtains for awhile (ghost cat!) and sneaked up on Azar on several occasions. I also found him scuttling furtively down the hallway with a business card in his mouth… little devil has discoverd my desk. But the funniest and most endearing thing he has done so far – and that’s saying a lot! – is when he has something in his mouth (shoestring, business card, bra, whatever) and Azar approaches him … well, just to say that his “fierce growl” is even more adorable this his eensy little mew. It totally slays me.
Put up a few more pics today… if only Sunny had been born during the age of digital cameras and internet! I could have bored everyone stupid with incessant photos of him too! 🙂

I realised this morning that I have no photos of me with Loki, so here are some very dodgy quality ones taken with the webcam after yoga class. This is me at my desk trying to get some work done, but the little guy kept asking for a cuddle. He has now left me to snuggle up with his best buddy, Azar…

These two guys are slaying me!
It’s just too adorable how they have become inseparable these days. And you can really see how Loki looks up to Azar as the “big brother”. He’s very monkey-see-monkey-do and tends to copy whatever Azar does, such as eating asparagus and grass. He also copies Azar’s favourite cuddle position in bed, and tucks his little nose under my chin (but on the other side of my head). The other night they were nose-to-nose like this, both of them purring away like mad, and I thought I would melt on the spot. Loki even submits to grooming by his big bro and they always siesta together now.
As for whatever was ailing Azar, having Loki around has really perked him up. He’s eating well now and his “dislocated shoulder” must have healed itself because the two of them tear around the apartment chasing each other like maniacs. So nice to see Azar getting some exercise! Meanwhile, Loki is a lean mean kitteh machine … he plays hard and sleeps hard. He also eats a LOT, and I think it was watching him eat all the time that got Azar interested in food again. So it turns out to have been a good match after all. Phew!
More kitteh cuteness below the links…

Since his recent mystery illness, and especially since the arrival of Loki, I’ve been telling Azar … “hey, don’t you worry ’bout a thing chevrolet, you and I can conquer the world”. I don’t know why that sentence kept coming up. And of course “chevrolet” is a silly private joke referring to a Stevie Wonder song called Don’t You Worry ‘Bout A Thing … and the background singers go “chévere”, which sounded like chevrolet to my young 15 year-old ears. But one of my very favourite Stevie Wonder songs is this one – You and I, We Can Conquer the World, though it didn’t become my favourite Stevie Wonder song until I heard someone else sing it – Diane Heatherington – in a little tea room/restaurant in Winnipeg I used to frequent called The Ting. She sang this song like nobody else and it always filled me up. I think if kd Lang ever sang it I would just crumple up and die of happiness…
Such beautiful lyrics, neither gender nor species specific.
