I have no idea what to think or how to feel.
Went to see the oncologist with Pablo yesterday and really had no idea what to expect. Though I assumed (because I’d been told this by the surgeons after the last op) that I would be put on “clean up” chemo again, probably for 5-6 months. Wrong!

This is it – the new washing machine!
As I mentioned over here, my landlord finally agreed to split the cost of a new machine 50/50, and his daughter recommended a Samsung model for about 300 euros that she has at home and is very pleased with. I was to have it delivered and installed here on Friday, but of course, things are never that simple or easy. Turned out the store was out of that model until further notice, which meant I had to (eep!) go out to the suburbs yesterday to see what else could be found…

Goddam washing machine broke this morning.
Just in time for Christmas! 😦
I have to either get my 15-year-old machine fixed or buy a new one.
Thank goodness I can use the neighbour’s machine for now…

I mean, is this some sort of game … or what ?
Right after I published that last post a couple of doctors came into my room and said, “Oh, hasn’t anyone told you yet?” Turns out they had an emergency liver transplant this morning and so today’s scheduled ops have been postponed until Thursday. Which means on Wednesday evening I’m going to go through this whole damn rigamarole again. Gaaaaa!
My main regret is that I know I’ll never find such a perfect roommate as María … and I’m sure she won’t be too happy to wake up with some TV-watching señora in the next bed. Anyhow, I left her a note and a link to my tapa blog, so maybe I’ll hear from her again.
Back home now enjoying some coffee & digestive biscuits.

Yesterday Nog turned on his laptop and got the blue screen of death, saying something about a problem with the user32 dll file and recommended that the operating system be restored. Turns out this problem was caused by his ‘free’ anti-virus, AVG, which had released an update that mistakenly identified the user32 dll file (a key Windows file) as a Trojan Horse virus.
Thing is, we’ve been trying to restore the OS using the CD but – so far – it doesn’t seem to be working. The instructions say the process could take 1-2 hours, after which the laptop will reboot itself. But after about 4 hours it was still going so we decided to exit and reboot manually … and got the blue screen again. So we’re trying it again. Bloody false positives!
Has anyone else had this problem?
