I’ve passed by this little alley maybe a gazillion times over the years, but today was the first time I’ve been down it (at least that I can recall). I was on the hunt for a picture frame (more on that later) and saw online that an art shop in one of the pedestrian shopping streets had their framing workshop just around the corner. It’s a family-run place called Cuadros Venecias that has been in business for over a hundred years and what a cool experience it was. I even got a tour of the back rooms, though didn’t go upstairs (the workspace covers three floors!). All shopping should be this fun and interesting. Stay tuned for the finished product (should have it by Monday).

Driving back from Arcos l was so excited to see the Amazing Alexandra del Bene back working on her epic project painting 15 gigantic murals commemorating the quincentennial of the Magellan-Elcano expedition to circumnavigate the world. What a woman.

So, remember Tania? My neighbour and – as it turns out – very artistic friend. Well awhile back she said she wanted to make me a hand painted tile and asked which image I would like. Of course the first thing that occurred to me were the sherry symbols (because if I ever get a tatoo THAT is what it will be) so I mentioned an abanico that was given to me at the last Vinoble in Jerez and sent her a photo. And I mean, just look what she did!

I love the cobalt blue, the addition of the carnations, and all the beautiful detailing. Thanks Tania!
