I’ve got a new blog!
Well, it’s actually an old private blog I started last year with a few friends who were interested in creating a fitness & weight loss support group. After awhile it started to fizzle out and yesterday I noticed that nobody had posted there in months.
And since today I am yet again embarking on new and healthier chapter of my life (Mondays are nice starting off days for me) I decided to revamp and revive this old blog and also change it into a public one.
So if anyone else doing stuff related to health & fitness, weight-loss, general well-being and lifestyle changes, and if you would like to contribute, please feel very welcome to do so. And though it might appear at first glance to be ‘women oriented’ it isn’t meant to be just for women. I’ve started it off with a few of the original posts.

Hey Az, that’s a great site! I just left a lengthly response.

Glad to see this one out here! And you must be able to read my mind, as I’ve just been taking stock and deciding I need to get moving again, any way I can, or I’m going to have a very short dance program!

Excellent idea and I’d love to contribute as I’ve just signed up to run my first half marathon in two months time so will be training… my only problem is that I have to post at work and the blog header picture, while beautiful, is just going to be too obviously non-work related!!!
I’ll see if I can find a way to post surreptitiously 🙂

Hmmm… perhaps a quick couple-inch scroll down after you open the page, truce?
SC, it would be great to see you there.
WC, interesting comment; nice to have you there.
I think I’ll just stay with the posts that are there for the moment, but if anyone has any ideas or suggestions for post topics just let me know.

I’ll be getting in some walking this morning, as I have to walk a couple of LONG blocks from a bus stop to a job interview — and I haven’t decided yet if I’m bringing my cane. I think I shouldn’t hide it, but the interview is with a new job shop, and I want them to send me out! Once I’m working for them, they won’t know about the cane, unless the client tells them…

What did you decide to do? I suppose if you are able to make it there and back again without the cane you might be giving them one less ‘reason’ not to send you out (unfair though that is). But if going without the cane all morning might cause undue stress, it probably isn’t worth it.
I kind of reckon that honesty is the best policy. Would you really want to work for people who might hold it against you that you need to use a cane?

No, you’re right about that, az. Ideally, it shouldn’t matter, but I’m competing with people 30 years younger, and I kinda don’t like sharpening the comparison, you know?
Anyhoo, that’s why I’m trying to jump start my exercise routine, maybe if I walk more, I can lose the cane, and whatever little disadvantage it is.

I’ve started a journal of sorts to keep track of my monthly weight loss goals – if anyone would like to join in please feel free to do so. Just choose a starting date, set your goals and add your comments.
If you like I can also start a subpage for you.

Weird . . . this post has been getting between 20-30 hits a day for the past week or so, yet nobody has left a comment.
Previously only my IKEA sofa post has got such constant attention.
