Ah, the things I do for my public . . . 😉
As mentioned in the previous post, Nog and I had quite a lovely day yesterday and we ended up going out for ‘a tapita’ which turned into quite a meal. But we figured since I still didn’t have any photos of Los Coloniales for my ~ sevilla tapas ~ page, we should at least order a bit of a selection. And the bar guys got into it as well, bringing over a plate of one of the house specialities for me to photograph.
So here are the photos of Los Coloniales (photos 81-87).

Also wanted to say that those are actually tapas at this place (referring to the pork tenderloin dishes) at about 3.25€ each. The toasty thing costs a bit more. Including a couple of drinks each – wine & beer – the whole meal cost us 20€ including tip.
Usually tapas are a lot smaller and vary from 2€ – 3.50€, depending on the place.

Tried a new place tonight called Casa Cuesta. Apparently the original tapa bar (founded 1890) is still in Triana – this one was opened in the centre of town about a year ago.
I thought the urta (a type of fish) was divine, but Nog preferred the kidneys.

Okay, we’ve really got to stop doing this, but tonight on our way home from a walk we were feeling a bit peckish so stopped in at Bodeguita Romero for a snack. And the boys were glad to see me because they said they’d lost the URL for the tapa blog that I’d written down for them last time.
Anyhow, we had two tapas we hadn’t tried there before – stewed pig’s cheeks and some solomillo (pork tenderloin) in a spicy ‘mojo picon’ sauce. And they were both fabulous! If you scroll down, tonight’s photos are the last three from the bottom…

And after we left the bar we came across an orchestra playing in the square next to the town hall … playing The Barber of Seville! So we had to stop and listen.

All in all, quite a nice evening. And perfect timing because we just got home and it’s just started thundering and lightning-ing again. 🙂
